I’m interested in knowing how you personally grasp the university subjects. This is something I find very difficult. What I do not understand is how the lecturer from each of my 4 modules per semester, expect you to read a chapter or two of the textbook (about 50-80 pages per chapter) after each lecture? How is it possible? I can’t just read the book, I have to write things out so I understand and remember them.

I’m in my second year and I tried doing this last year and fell behind really quicker until it got to a point where I didn’t have a clue what was going on in the lecture at all. I was just sitting there waiting to go home so I could read the book again (about 5 chapters behind). It became really stressful.

Is it really required and even possible to read whole chapters of textbooks after each lecture? What is the best way to learn in uni? Take notes and read those? How do you learn in uni?

Try to skim the chapter before the lecture. Then take notes during the lecture. After that, spend about an hour reading through the textbook. The next time you have a lecture, spend about ten minutes before hand looking through your notes.

You shouldn’t need to write down info from the book if you make sure that you review the information regularly.

I’m not really sure of the GPA required to be accepted to either schools, but Bowie should not even be a thought.

My cousin was researching, applying, and visiting schools this past year , and I attended the Bowie open house with her. Bowie is a horrible school in my opinion. First of all, it doesn’t have a large student body, and the majority of the student body commutes. So, if you don’t want to be bored on the weekends, I wouldn’t consider Bowie State. Another thing, the dorms are disgusting. They look like crack houses. Last, but not least they are very slow with paperwork. Bowie State is mainly a last resort school.

Specifically, I’m referring to the logos on the side of their football helmets. They seem to use the exact same "G" but in different colors. I was wondering who came up with the design of the G first.
