  • How do you address the president of a University?

Posted by admin on January 2nd, 2010 and filed under address of university |

For example, President Jones, or Mr.Jones or what?

Is it appropriate to say the latter? Like, "Mr.Jones, sir," or something similar?

Also, "Mr.President" is reserved only for the president of the U.S., correct?

    Thanks!

    Mr.
Unless, of course, he has attained a doctorate degree. Then, Dr.

You are correct, in conversation, Mr. President is reserved for the present and former presidents of the US. However, in a formal meeting, open to the public, Mr. President is used to address or introduce the president of the organization.
