  • What is the font used on the logos on University sweatshirts?

Posted by admin on October 9th, 2009 and filed under logo university | 3 Comments »

I am trying to put some artwork together for a fancy dress costume and want to make a logo like the ones you see on university sweaters and hoodies (see the link for an example)

Does anyone know what the font type is called and where I can download it for free?

    Thanks!

The free font VARSITY is very similar. You can view it and download it here: http://www.dafont.com/font.php?file=varsity_regular&page=1&nb_ppp_old=50&text=LANCASTER+&nb_ppp=50&psize=l&classt=alpha

Missouri school of engineering changed their name to Missouri University of Science and Technology?

The MIssouri school of engineering at Rolla (home of one of the best solar car programs) changed their name to Missouri University of Science and Technology. Their initials now spell MUST. I wonder if they did it deliberately, and we’ll be seeing MUST on their logo shirts.

I’m sure they took it into consideration in making the change, but the actual reason for the change was not to change the acronym, but to broaden the name to match their offerings, since they now offer things other than engineering as a major.

Hey! Im holding a International Festival for my university! I need some theme ideas and if possible a logo to match!
    Thanks!

You can have a bird with multi flags blending each other on it.

Or u can do like the olympic beijin, instead on one logo, have two or 5 oh even better have one animal or watever image represent each continent. So for asia make an exotic creature like a dragon or use a panda. Australia use a kangarooo

    get the idea?

are there stylish things and cloths like jeans or a trendy bag with a Saudi Arabia logo?

Posted by admin on September 14th, 2009 and filed under logo university | 3 Comments »

I have a nice pen and a watch with the Saudi sword’n palm-logo. But how about stylish wardrobe with this like jeans or a stylish bag? Why not KSA instead of USA sometimes? I would prefer zesty designer brands.

And please please: don’t refer to ugly cheap everybody’s t-shirts like all this square-boring university- or advertisement-stuff.

    No not really.

You can find things like what you have, flags, pens, coasters and other little trinkets but Saudis aren’t really into wearing their logo unless its National Day or a big game. And even then they wear the flag, shirts with the flag on it but on normal days its very hard to find things like that.

They don’t have jeans with the Saudi logo on it, you can try getting something like that custom made. I know a lot of people who design shirts, bags, headbands etc.

Message me if you are interested.

What would be the best federal document to protect our name and logo?

Posted by admin on September 12th, 2009 and filed under logo university | 2 Comments »

I am the president of a university student organization. We would like to federally protect our name and logo so that no other organization at any university can use it. What should I apply for? and what is the process like?

A trademark or trade mark, identified by the symbols ™ and ®,[1] or mark is a distinctive sign or indicator used by an individual, business organization or other legal entity to identify that the products and/or services to consumers with which the trademark appears originate from a unique source of origin, and to distinguish its products or services from those of other entities. A trademark is a type of intellectual property, and typically a name, word, phrase, logo, symbol, design, image, or a combination of these elements.[2] There is also a range of non-conventional trademarks comprising marks which do not fall into these standard categories.

The owner of a registered trademark may commence legal proceedings for trademark infringement to prevent unauthorized use of that trademark. However, registration is not required. The owner of a common law trademark may also file suit, but an unregistered mark may be protectable only within the geographical area within which it has been used or in geographical areas into which it may be reasonably expected to expand.

The term trademark is also used informally to refer to any distinguishing attribute by which an individual is readily identified, such as the well known characteristics of celebrities. When a trademark is used in relation to services rather than products, it may sometimes be called a service mark, particularly in the United States.

    More here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trademark

BUT you’ll need an expensive IP atty to conduct the appropriate searches to make sure the name and mark are available AND whether it’s really in the uni’s interest to spend money that way and maybe undertake REALLY expensive litigation to protect/defend the protection. It was in the interest of Champagne, for instance, to protect the use of that name. Is your outfit similarly profitable enough to justify the expense of IP protection? I’m guessing no.
