  • When one reaches university age and picks his majors can he attend 2 universities at the same time.?

Posted by admin on September 25th, 2009 and filed under university universities | 2 Comments »

The reason I ask this is one university may specialise in my prefered subject and another more specialised in my secondary subject.

You can do whatever you want. But if you want the programs to merge so your credits are applied to a single program and/or pay a reduced tuition then you need to make sure the school’s allow this. Too broad without being specific to the institutions.

How do sports in US universities differ from university sports in other countries and cultures?

    they are better

Open University better for loners than traditional Universities?

Posted by admin on September 21st, 2009 and filed under university universities | 1 Comment »

    Hi everyone.

I’m considering going to university in September next year, however I’m split about which uni to go to. The issue being, I have to evaluate my motives for going. I feel I’m one of those people who only really want to go for the social atmosphere more than getting the end degree. However, being a loner I have high hopes for myself which may fall flat on my face, leaving me in a university place I feel disilllusioned about.

Can anyone give me any advice about the best place to put someone who tends to spend time in solitude and is quite easily disillusioned by these things. Would doing an open course (e.g Open University) be better, as I can concentrate the rest of my spare time on working instead?

    Thanks for any responses.

Well, with the Open University you can choose to be totally isolated if you wish (by not attending tutorials, day schools, not picking courses with residential courses but you will have to go to exams and human beings will be encountered there!). And on the other hand, with the Open University you can meet as many people as you want! Make friends/discuss academic issues on their FirstClass conferencing facility, attend tutorials, go to residential summer schools, outings organised by the OU’s student services etc, etc…. Its like anything in life - you choose how involved you get into it.

I am in my 6th and final year with the Open University, but I choose this way because of their brillant and high achieving reputation in the UK, good research facilities, value for money, polls saying they were tops on student value and monetary value, and because I work full time and started my degree when I was 24 years old.

But I would say going with the Open University is a choice to be considered seriously as its very hard going as the teaching and assessment levels are high and tough!! Also, pick a university because of its reputation, standards, location, financial resources (to yourself) etc, because when you get to a brick conventional university you can isolate or involve yourself as much as you want.

Good luck with whatever you decide and well done for deciding to get a university standard education!!!

Is it easy to enter Harvard, Princeton and other prestigious universities from La Sorbonne university in Paris?

It would depend on which of the Sorbonnes and on the student’s academic performance there. Sorbonne I and IV are apparently academically demanding, the others substantially less so.

The Prayer of the Children - Baylor Men’s Choir

Posted by admin on September 4th, 2009 and filed under university universities | 25 Comments »

This is a remake of my film “The Prayer of the Children” sung by the Baylor University Men’s Choir.

This film is dedicated to the real victims of war, hatred and unforgiving hearts: Children.

This serves as but a part of my prayer for those who have suffered at places such as Columbine, Africa, Virginia Tech, Chechnya and other war-torn, hate filled places. Though we may not be able to cause the wars abroad to cease, we can cause the wars within our hearts and homes to end. Forgive and love others. Truly these small and simple steps can eventually cause great and powerful strides in the world.

“The Prayer of the Children” by Kurt Bestor and Sam Cardon

Can you hear the prayer of the children?
On bended knee, in the shadow of an unknown room
Empty eyes with no more tears to cry
    Turning heavenward toward the light

    Crying jesus, help me
To see the morning light-of one more day
But if i should die before i wake,
I pray my soul to take

Can you feel the hearts of the children?
Aching for home, for something of their very own
Reaching hands, with nothing to hold on to,
But hope for a better day a better day

    Crying jesus, help me
To feel the love again in my own land
But if unknown roads lead away from home,
Give me loving arms, away from harm

Can you hear the voice of the children?
Softly pleading for silence in a shattered world?
Angry guns preach a gospel full of hate,
Blood of the innocent on their hands

    Crying jesus, help me
To feel the sun again upon my face,
For when darkness clears i know you’re near,
    Bringing peace again

    Dali cujete sve djecje molitive?
    (croatian translation:
‘can you hear all the children’s prayers?’)
Can you hear the prayer of the children?
