    hi my school pretty much took the university of minnesotas logo and put it on there own hoodies and gave it to the football team for free… is this legal or not?
    hi my school has taken the university of minnesotas logo and put it on there own hoodies and gave it to the football team for free… all they did was change the color… is this legal?

    Unless the school licensed the logo or had the university’s permission, it’s a copyright violation.

      Many schools own a trademark on their logo. Not all schools in the world, but many. You cannot use someone else’s trademark in your own business without permission.

      Yes they can. they gave it to the team for free.

      Copyright infringement deals with monetary loss and gain, which doesn’t include giving things away for free.
