      … A lot of things …
… A lot of things get converted into formaldehyde. Formaldehyde gets converted into formic acid in teh body, and with diet sodas it’s already in trace amounts since artificial sweeteners are a lot sweeter than sugar and they can use less.

Intermediate byproducts such as formaldehyde, methanol, and formic acid are restrained by enzymes, so they can’t really cause any harm, provided we’re still talking about low amounts.

b5kalad - as far as i know most or all sugar substitutes are worse for you to ingest than actual white sugar - which is also pretty bad for you. some sugar substitutes actually turn into formaldehyde at 86 degrees F which means that it does so after you eat it due to your body temperature… Don’t drink diet soda’s thinking you’re helping yourself out… Might loes weight but you’ll end up with cancer or a variety of other issues.
